AMIHO Technology was founded in 2009 to solve the problem of connectivity for the smart energy industry. We concentrate on the licence-free (ISM) spectrum to produce relevant and cost effective solutions for our customers. We specialise in the following wireless communication technologies: LoRa®, LoRaWAN™ and Wireless Meter-Bus.
AMIHO develops and supplies wireless RF modules, our own protocol stacks and evaluation kits. We also offer professional design services to help our customers to integrate AMIHO’s technology into their innovative devices (new generation water/gas/electricity meters, sensors, gateways, concentrators and etc).
With functional requirements of the end devices in mind, we help to customise our RF modules for specific applications. Being an official technology partner of the top 2 global MCU suppliers: NXP Semiconductors and Renesas, we make sure that every component of our standard and customised hardware ‘ticks’ all the boxes of our customers’ project requirements. We have an excellent team which provides expert support and advice ensuring success of every stage of integration projects.
Initially, our markets were Smart Metering, Building and Home Automation, and we provided both software and hardware based on a European Communication Standard based under EN 13757 – Wireless Meter Bus.
More recently we have added a range of LoRa (low power, long range wireless platform developed by Semtech Corp.) communications into our products, which can extend the radio range and solve the problem of meters and devices that cannot be connected using traditional methods. E.g. in smart metering, up to 5% of meters may be ‘unreachable’ due to terrain, remote location or other obstacles.
In addition, our LoRa and LoRaWAN (enables network layer) products are highly suitable for connecting devices and sensors used in the Internet of Things (IoT), a broad and rapidly expanding market. AMIHO focuses on the Industrial IoT in applications such as Smart Cities, Smart Buildings, Facilities Management, Smart Agriculture, Preventive Maintenance, Remote Monitoring and Asset Tracking.
